A universal organism able to infect all birds and mammals, which has been predicted to contaminate one-third of the global human population, Toxoplasma gondii is the strongest parasite on Earth, and toxoplasmosis a serious zoonotic disease. A recently introduced methodology for fighting this disorder is the "one health" idea, with a foundational concept that disease affecting humans and animals in a particular environmental setup can only be handled when all the causative agents are involved.
